Smith-Welch Library – more than great books
Laura Chesner Staff Writer [email protected] Kelly Hover and Sylvia Garcia love to visit with library guests. They are always trying to find out new things for locals to enjoy and learn at the library. Recently, Sylvia decided to have a Zumba Fitness class at the library. Join her Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. for Zumba Fit Club. The first time is free, and if you decide to come back, there is a $5.00 donation to the Smith-Welch library’s summer reading program. A great way to get fit and help kids at the same time. Hover wants to remind people that the library also offers several other services. On Tuesday afternoons, locals can meet with Miosha Sanders to get help finding government assistance. She can help you find food banks, fill out Medicaid paperwork, explain your SNAP benefits and find doctors and clinics that accept CHIP. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Kelly Ellison is still available to teach computer skills. She can teach at all levels from extreme beginner and beyond. She can teach you how to use Facebook, basic typing, Skype and how to use office software. Due to limited space, if you wish to get instruction, contact the Smith-Welch library to schedule some instruction time with Ms. Ellison. Garcia and Hover are hurriedly planning for the May bake sale and the Summer Reading Program. Be sure to check in at the library for more news and a good read.
