Trojan girls bring home gold and silver from Austin

LaKeydra Mosley and Tiffany Williams brought back some heavy metal.


LaKeydra Mosley and Tiffany Williams went to Austin, last Friday, May 10 to compete in the State Track and Field Championships. Coaches Wortham and Cotton had big dreams for their track runners and the ladies did not disappoint.

LaKeydra Mosley competed in the 100 and 200-meter dash events. In the 200 meter, Mosley brought home the silver medal with a time of 26.63. Her time was only .20 seconds behind the leader from Coolidge. In the 100-meter dash, Mosley brought home the gold with a time of 12.39.

Williams competed in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dash events. In the 100-meter das, Williams took silver with a time of 12.57, just  .11 seconds shy of her teammate. In the 200-meter race, Williams brought home bronze with a time of 26.87 another .13 seconds shy of Mosley. In the 400-meter race, Williams brought home the gold with a time of 58.51, a full .26 seconds before her nearest competitor.

The Calvert Lady Trojans scored big in their events, which brought the Calvert team into second place overall. The ladies brought home a second place trophy for all of the Trojans to enjoy.
