Antonio “Tony” Lopez Sosa Sr. “Paw Paw”
Antonio “Tony” Lopez Sosa Sr., born on August 18, 1953 and died at the age of 59 years, 11 months, and 11 days, of Calvert, passed away on Sunday August 11, 2013 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility.
Funeral services were held at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. Visitation was August 13, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on August 14, 2013 with Brother Larry Blackman.
Tony was a hard worker; he was a carpenter and did a lot of other jobs. Friends would say he was a genius.
Preceding him in death is his father Hilario Sosa Sr. and two sisters; Eulalia S. Heison and Dominga S. Mirmontez.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Rayes Contreras Sosa; his mother, Juana Sosa; his three sons and daughter-in-laws, Ricky and Sharon Contreras of Calvert, Tony Jr. and Cindy Sosa of Hearne, and Fernando and Christina “Tina” Sosa of Bryan; his brother and sister-in-law’ Hilario Jr. and Rose Sosa of Waco; His sisters and brother-in-laws, Soledad and Ignacio Ibarro of Calvert, Mary and Richard Martinez of Bryan, Paula and Richard Cesares of Bryan, and Josephine and George Mendoza of Pasadena; eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a lo of friends.
Tony’s family would like to give a special “thank you” to all of the nurses at Hospice Brazos Valley for the compassion and care hey had given to Tony with his sudden illness that began in March of 2013 until God called him home on August 11, 2013.
