As a token of its appreciation to volunteer firefighters and their service to the community, Atmos Energy has donated $500 to the Calvert Volunteer Fire Department general fund on September 24.

“Our partnership with firefighters is invaluable as it relates to public safety,” said Chace Murphy, manager of public affairs for Atmos Energy. “Many times we cannot effectively do our job without their assistance and this donation is an effort to show how much we appreciate the relationship we have with the fire department.”

Along with the monetary contribution, Atmos Energy also donated numerous brochures and pamphlets for the fire department to distribute to the community. The materials cover a range of topics including: safe digging practices, what to do if you smell natural gas, and energy efficiency.
