Mumford Lady Mustangs Maintaining their position

With a solid hold on 3rd place in District play, the Mumford Lady Mustangs (4-2) are hoping to not only hold onto their playoff spot but to improve their overall position in the race.
They trail 2nd place Normangee (5-1) by only a game and lead 4th place Richards (3-3) by one game and 5th place Calvert (2-4) by two games. Strong play by Abby Eckenrode, Hanna McCarver and Brianna Jutson have led the way for the Lady Mustangs.
Wins at Calvert and Bremond helped secure their spot in the 1st half of district.  Now as the 2nd round begins, they are out to prove it was no fluke and they earned the spot.
They will have the advantage of playing most of their contenders at home in the 2nd half of play. Coach Mannes’ team has proven they are capable of winning on the road and have been up to the challenge thus far in District.
If they can defend their home court in the 2nd half they stand a great chance of controlling one of the playoff positions.  Look for the Mumford Lady Mustangs to continue to make some noise in District play.
