Tigers pounce at start of district play
The Bremond Tigers enjoyed their one-week rest and now it’s back to the business at hand. The Tigers kick off District play against the Lovelady Lions. The Lions are 3-3 after beating Hull-Daisetta last Friday.
They do have one common opponent with Bremond and that was Leon. The Lions lost 14-6 to Leon while the Tigers humbled Leon 35-14. It’s the first of three district games for Bremond and the Tigers look to continue their hot start.
A continuation of the Cade Grych that has emerged in recent weeks, will definitely give the Tigers an advantage.
Grych has totaled nearly 600 yards passing in the last two games and thrown 5 touchdowns and run for 2 more. You can see his confidence growing and his receivers Evan Sargent, Harrison Hull and RayAndre Browning have proven solid. Grych’s play has led Bremond to its impressive 6-0 start and an average of 41 points per game.
Backs Harrison Hull, James Jones, Browning, and Josh Anderson have given the Tigers a powerful rushing attack that averages over 300 yards per game.
The Big Red defense meanwhile, has allowed only 35 points all year. Lovelady returns super sophomore, halfback Emanuel Williams.
Williams’ speed will test the Tigers ability to contain the Lions. However, the Big Red has been solid on both sides of the ball and Lovelady may not be as tough this season as they were in 2012. The Lions just don’t look strong enough to compete with Bremond this season. Look for the Tigers to live up to their number 5 ranking against Lovelady this weekend.
