Representatives from Encana Oil & Gas recently presented a check for $4,000 to Melissa Williams, owner of the Lone Star Burger Bar, to assist with the staging of this year’s Holiday Feast of Sharing in Franklin.
Kristen Thornburg and Bridgett Gauntt of Encana delivered the check to Williams, who will use the funds to purchase food for an expected 1,500 traditional Thanksgiving meals that will be prepared and delivered by volunteers to those in need throughout the city.
Encana has supported the Holiday Feast of Sharing for the past four holiday seasons, with the event serving more and more families every year. In addition to food deliveries, the Holiday Feast of Sharing also delivers gifts to children in need, and this year that number may surpass 300 youth in the Franklin area.
“We are pleased to support the Holiday Feast of Sharing and the efforts of Melissa and volunteers from across Franklin who are making such a tremendous impact on those in need from across the community during this holiday season,” said Gauntt. “Each year this charitable event increases in size, and that reflects on the families and businesses in Franklin that are continuously willing to offer their time and money to lend a hand for such a worthy cause.”
This year’s Holiday Feast of Sharing will take place on December 7, with gifts delivered to children on December 19. Those interested in supporting the event, whether with monetary gifts or by simply lending a hand with food preparation and the delivery of meals and toys, may contact Williams at (979) 828-5000.
