Chamber recognizes new restaurant
On Thursday, February 13, Hearne Chamber of Commerce and the community recognized A&M Cajun Soul Restaurant with a ceremonial ribbon cutting signifying the acceptance of the new building.
On this beautiful sunny day Melvin Arbor got to cut a big yellow ribbon in front of the new restaurant surrounded by the Hearne Chamber of Commerce, Robertson County officials, friends, and family.
Arbor and his wife, A’Lana, showed their gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce and other participants by serving Boudain balls and red beans and rice for everyone to enjoy.
A’Lana is from Louisiana and grew up with a lot of the traditional Cajun foods. A&M Cajun Soul Restaurant serves breakfast lunch, dinner, and dessert. All meals are cooked to order, which means that unlike fast food restaurants the food isn’t pre cooked, it is made fresh as soon as you tell your waiter/waitress. The menu even says, “All meals are cooked to order, please allow 20-45 minutes for preparation.”
The mission of A&M Cajun Soul Restaurant is to provide a place for the community of Hearne, and surrounding areas to enjoy a different and unique choice in their dinning experience. A&M Cajun Soul Restaurant was founded by Melvin and A’Lana Arbor in October of 2012. “Thanks be to God our father who has guided us to this point in the journey where we can now bring joy to others through employment and food,” said Arbor.
A&M Cajun Soul Restaurant is located at 102 Navasota Street and is open Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5:00 a.m. until midnight, and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Their phone number is (979) 587-2572. They offer to-go service, dine-in service, and delivery.
