Christopher Johnson 51 passed away Sunday March 16, 2014 at Huntsville memorial hospital visitation was from 1 - 6 p.m. Friday March 21, 2014 at Glenn Mack Funeral Home.

A celebration of Christopher’s life was held at 1:00 p.m. March 22, 2014, at New Elam Baptist church, Derron Robinson officiated.

Christopher Johnson was born June 19, 1962 to Richards L. Johnson, Sr. and Josephine Roach Johnson in Robertson County, Texas.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and united with the New Elam Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of Rev. O. W. Mack. Chris was a part of the Usher ministry while at New Elam. He later joined the Cathedral of Faith Church in Beaumont, Texas under Rev. Delbert Allen Mack Sr. and attended services in Houston, Texas.

In 1981, Chris graduated from Hearne High School. He worked various jobs: the power plant in Hammond, Texas; worked on several construction jobs; and served as an officer at TDCJ. Chris later graduated from Truck Driving School in Lufkin, Texas.

He had a love for games such as chess and cards. His outdoor activities included tennis, fishing, and hunting.

On June 21, 1986, Chris united in marriage to Claudia Norfleet. To this union no children were born.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Kay Johnson; grandparents, Rev. C.M. Roach and Christine Roach; Mr. Hamp Johnson and Addie Johnson.

Christopher leaves to cherish his memories his devoted parents, Richard and Josephine Johnson; a brother Richard L. Johnson, Jr.; a daughter, Crystal Brantley; one uncle, Charles M. Roach, Jr.; aunts, one great uncle, cousins, and special friends Shirley Edwards and Rev. Michael Horton.

Christopher’s arrangements and care were entrusted to Glenn Mack Funeral Home.
