Hot enough to take a plunge

It’s that time of the year again when the kids are out of school and parents need to keep their kids occupied during the week. Well parents the Hearne Community Pool is open for the summer.

The pool hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. There is also a Wednesday teen night from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for teens ages 13 through 19 and Thursday Family Night from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

The pool cost $3.00 per day per person or you can buy a summer pass for $90.00.

The pool is also available for renting. You can call the City of Hearne at (979) 279-3461 to schedule your time at the pool. It cost $200 to rent for two hours and $50 per hour after that. They ask for a $200 deposit which is returned to you if the pool area is clean after your scheduled time.

The pool has multiple lifeguards on duty at all times and offers concession stand items that you can buy. There are two diving boards for your enjoyment, one is a high dive. There are also two slides available for kids to go down.

So if you need a place to take the kids this summer the Hearne Community Pool is open until August 10.
