Polish Festival Days this weekend
Bremond, a friendly Texas town proud of its Polish heritage, invites you to their 27th annual Polish Festival Days (Polski Dzien) on Friday and Saturday, June 27 & 28, 2014. See a bit of Polish tradition and culture and taste some Polish food.
This Polish Festival is full of fun starting on Friday night with the Polish Festival Days Beauty Pageant held at the Bremond ISD Cafeteria starting at 6:00 p.m. and free entertainment on Main Street with music by the Fence Post Pickers of Franklin starting at 8:00 p.m. Food and arts & crafts vendors and the BBQ Cook-off contestants set up on Friday as well.
Saturday’s events include the Polish Pickle 5K Run at 8:00 a.m. and a parade with cash prizes starting at 10:30 a.m.
The Polish Dance Group, Wawel, from Houston will be performing under the big tent on Main Street at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Daytime entertainment will be the Polska Kapela Band starting at 11:00 a.m. Brian Marshall & Friends will play at Texas Slav & German Warehouse starting at 2:00 p.m.
Other events for Saturday are games including volleyball, 3 on 3 basketball, horseshoes, washers and a 42 tournament plus judging of the BBQ Cook-off entries.
Starting at 9:00 p.m., a street dance with music by the Crossroads Band from Bryan/Snook concludes the day’s events. Admission is $10.00/person. Under 8 free with an adult. Bring your ice chests and chairs along for a fun-filled evening. In the event of rain, the dance will be held at St. Mary’s Recreation center at 715 N Main St. No glass bottles allowed.
