Agnes Kubiak Leonard

Agnes Kubiak Leonard of Bremond, TX passed away at her home in Huntsville, TX at the age of 93 on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Her viewing will be held Friday, February 27 at the Bremond Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The Rosary will immediately follow. Funeral Mass is set for Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond, Texas with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Agnes worked and retired from the Hormel Corporation after over 34 years of service, and continued working post-retirement for Boar’s Head as part of their mobile sales force for over 20 years. Her hobbies included gambling, dominoes and dancing. Agnes is survived by her daughter, and son-in-law, Barbara Flanagan and Bill Thompson of Huntsville, TX; her daughter Jane Smart of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; one brother, two sisters, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Kay Groschke Lightsey 70, August 27, 1944 – February 17, 2015. of Bryan, passed early Tuesday morning, February 17, 2015 at her home in Robertson County. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday February 19, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Sitton of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan. Kyle Simonton

Kyle Simonton (January 17, 1945 - February 15, 2015), of Colorado Springs, Colorado died Sunday, February 15, 
2015 at Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care at Penrose Hospital. He was born January 17, 1945 in Hearne, Texas
to Ohmakyle & Hope (Harless) Simonton. He was the second of five children. He was a graduate ofHearne High School and after graduation he went on to join the Navy where he proudly served his country from 1963 to 1969 to include service in Vietnam. After discharge from the Navy he attended Mountain View College in Dallas, TX where he received his associate degree in electronic technology. He married his first wife, Kay Choate, who survives him, on November 25, 1966. He married his second wife Kassie Hoskinson, who was at his side, on March 28, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marcos J. Vega, 65, of Hearne went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 8, 2015. His viewing will be held Tuesday, February 10th at Memorial Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The rosary will immediately follow. The funeral on Wednesday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The burial following at St. Jose cemetery. Marcos is preceded in death by his parents Felipe & Josefina Vega, and brothers Ray and Walter Vega. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Rosa Vega; two sons Marcos Jr. & Scott Vega; two daughters Isabel & Cathy Vega, and five beloved grand kids. Also survived by his seven sisters, and two brothers.

Mary Evelyn Melcer, 85, Oct 29, 1929 - Feb 5, 2015, of Bremond, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. A visitation was held Saturday, Feb 7, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Bremond Funeral Home with a funeral service that began at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Melcer was taken to her family’s cemetery near Paducah, Kentucky, where a graveside service was held Monday, February 9, at 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Melcer’s survivors include her husband, Fred Melcer of Bremond; her brother, Bill Basham; her nieces, Mandy Paxton and Ginger Mollar. Arrangements were entrusted to Bremond Funeral Home.

Services began with a family visitation and Rosary, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. Public visitation and Rosary were Tuesday, February 3, at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hearne. Interment followed at St. Jose Cemetery in Hearne. Officiating services was Father David Liebham. Pallbearers were Carlos Guevara, Carlos Padilla, Jose Guerrero, Manuel Guevara, Fernando Garza, John Barrychuck, Luis Padilla. Ernest Joseph Wilganowski, August 21, 1936-February 2, 2015, 78, of Bremond, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2015 at Bremond Nursing and Rehab facility in Bremond. He was born August 21, 1936 in Bremond, Texas to Joe Wilganowski and Mary Wachel Wilganowski. He was a welder at Zeig Sheet Metal before retiring. He was also a rancher. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Services began Tuesday, February 3, with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and a Rosary that began at 7:00 p.m. at Bremond Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was Wednesday, February 4, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond with an interment that followed the mass. Services were officiated
