Kenneth Wayne Donaldson

Kenneth Wayne Donaldson, Sr., 44, of Hearne, passed away at his home Friday, January 2, 2015. Kenneth was born in Hearne September 18, 1970 to William Donaldson and Hazel Joyce Gilbert Donaldson. He was a tree trimmer and a  handy man. Services were held Monday, January 5, 2015, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Norwood Cemetery. Officiating services was Pastor Lonny Dewberry. Organist was Dianne Blackmon. Pallbearers were Christopher Donaldson, Jimmy Donaldson, Jr., Jamie McKay, Joey McKay, Billy McKay, Jonathan McKay; Alternate Pallbearer was Preston Camarata Jr. Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother. Kenneth’s survivors include his father, William Donaldson of Hearne; his sons, Kenneth Wayne Donaldson, Jr., and Christopher Lee Donaldson, both of Junction, Texas; and Robert William Donaldson of Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Glen and Dawn Donaldson;

Gertrude L. Welch

Gertrude was born on July 23, 1923 in Milam County and passed December 25, 2014. She grew up in Gause, TX and married Paul A. Welch on November  7, 1946. The moved to Texas City, TX in 1947. Gertrude returned to Hearne, TX in January of 1980. Her husband Paul A. Welch precedes Gertrude in death as well as her Father: Ruffice Matthews, 
Mother: Bessie Matthews, Sisters: Lola Williams and Clara Ashley, Brothers: Edward Matthews, Ollie Matthews, Russell Matthews, Baily Matthews, Deward Matthews, and J.P. Matthews. Gertrude is survived by her daughter: Paulette Welch Brown, Son-in-law: Niles Brown, Grandson: Billy Paul Brown, daughter-in-law Joy Brown and great grandson Ethan Brown. Gertude also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She loved to cook, bake and can and was she good at it, everyone always wanted her to bake them something. Gertrude died peacefully in her sleep at Hearne Health

Kathleen Wallace Stegall

Kathleen Wallace Stegall passed away at the age of 91 on January 3, 2015 in Dallas, Texas where she lived for several years. She had  been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born to Rev. and Mrs. J.L. Wallace on Nov. 1, 1923
in Franklin Texas. Rev. Wallace was pastor of Franklin Baptist Church for 30 plus years where Kathleen was a lifelong member. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University and received her Master’s Degree at University of Houston.  he

Janice C. Bradley

   Janice C. Bradley, 67, of Hearne, passed away at a hospice facility in Bryan Friday, December 19, 2014. Jan was born in Bryan May 20, 1947 and raised in Calvert. She graduated from Calvert High School. She was a secretary at Zeig Sheet Metal for many years and lived the last 22 years in Hearne. She married Bill Bradley on January 28, 1991. Services for Jan Bradley were held beginning with a visitation on Sunday, December 21, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Heartf ield-Ritter Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside that followed at Norwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Andrew Duncan, Cody Closs, Sean Closs, Cole Closs, Glen Bond, and Jacob Duncan. Preceding Jan in death were her parents, Lawrence Otho Closs and Ruth Imogene Campbell Closs.

Mildred Bowling

Mildred Bowling, 95, of Gause, passed away Monday, December 29, at Hearne Healthcare. Mrs. Bowling was born to
Tom Mills and Lou Ada Adams Mills on September 8, 1919 in Farrar, Texas. She and her husband owned the J. A. Ely Grocery Store in Gause, which is now Coats Grocery. A visitation was held Tuesday December 30, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral home in Hearne. Funeral service was held Wednesday, December 31, at Gause Baptist
Church with interment that followed at Gause Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Sanders officiated the services. Pallbearers were J. D. Williams, Ray Coats, Kevin Coats, James Rasco, Johnny Nigliazzo, Steve Rachui, and Robert Choates.
Preceding her in death are husbands, E. C. Wilkins who was the father of their children; he died in 1945; J. A. Ely, and

Gloria Helen Eddie Mitchell

Gloria Helen Eddie Mitchell 66 of Hearne passed away Monday December 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation was held 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Friday December 27, 2014 at Glenn Mack FUneral Home. A celebration of life service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 28, 2014 at Independent Missionary Baptist Church. The Eulogy was given by Rev. Walter Ward; assisting Rev. Vince Humber, Rev. Eddie Lee Taylor, Rev. Derron Robinson, and Rev. James Crawford. Gloria was laid to rest at Greater Riverside Cemetery. Gloria Helen Eddie Mitchell was born to the late Tempie and Oscar Eddie in Butler, AL. Gloria accepted Christ at an early age at Morning Star in Gary, IN. Gloria was an active employee in her early age, worked at Daniel Jarvis Home Health Agency and cared for a host of children in the community. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Tempie and Oscar Eddie, (Three Sisters) Shirly Scott, Ordella Eddie, and Ruby Wade and (one brother) Charles Eddie.

Walter Lee Hughes (Scooter) was born in Bryan, TX on Saturday June 11. 1966 and passed away Friday December 26, 2014 in Hearne, TX at the age of 48. Visitation was held Monday December 29, 2015 starting 5:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 802 S. Market Street, Hearne TX 77859. A celebration of his life was held on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Church of Christ on FM 2549. Arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, Hearne TX.

Frank Clifton “Gig” Adams

Frank Clifton “Gig” Adams, 87 of Hearne passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Bryan. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday December 19, 2014 at Glenn Mack Funeral Home. A celebration of life service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20 at Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. F.C. Lewis III pastor. Rev. Archie Hatten of Bethel A.M.E Church gave the eulogy with Rev. Eddie Taylor officiating. Internment was held at Greater Riverside Cemetery. Frank Clifton Adams was born on March 28, 1927 to the late Wesley and Blanche Phifer Adams. He departed this life on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Brazos Valley Hospice Center. Frank joined Bethal AME church at an early age. He attended Blackshear schools where he loved playing on the football team. He married Mary Carrington and to the union four children were born. He in later years married Ruby Jewel Mickens. Both preceded him in death.

Laban Toscano, 59, of Hearne, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 12, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5 - 6:30 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Hillier Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Tuesday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2541 Earl Rudder Freeway in College Station with Fr. Ryan Higdon officiating.
