a celebration of life, Rev. Keith Trotter officiating. Inez Washington was born to the parentage of Pledge and Adelaide Floyd Irving on January 25, 1921 in Calvert, TX. She was preceded in death by both parents, brothers; Ernest & Edward Samples and daughter, Carol Dixon Judie and great grandson D.J Pearce. Inez (Polly) received her formal education at Calvert Colored High School. She traveled extensively for many years but loved her hometown (Calvert) and came back

The service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Calvert High School Gymnasium - 310 Hickory Street Calvert, Texas 77837. There will be a viewing from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on behalf of her sons; Christopher, Jamarion, DaBrenton and Raylin to First Star Bank Calvert, Texas.

George Nicholas Orts, Jr.

George Nicholas Orts, Jr., 96,June 29, 1918 - December 19, 2014 of Hearne, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014. A memorial service was held Saturday, December 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. Speakers were Mike Orts and Ray Goodwin. Bugalist was David Jones from American Legion Post #159. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Orts, Sr. and Louise Zander Orts and his daughter, Georgia Orts Peyton. Survivors include his wife, Donnie Orts of Hearne; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Ettie Orts of Wheelock; grandchildren, Shelly and Kenneth Speaks; Kim and Charles Becan; and Michael Roll; 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Arrangements were entrusted to Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home.

Sandra Mae Guerra, 74, went to her heavenly family Dec. 24, 2014 at her home in West Columbia, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. Sandra was born in Ogallala, Nebraska to Carl Edwin and Emily (Dupree) Holmquist on May 31,
1940. She moved to Sulphur, Louisiana with her family at an early age, and then to Orange, Texas in her teens. She got married April 28, 1957 in Pasadena and they moved to Hearne in 1970 to continue raising their three daughters. There she enjoyed raising cattle, fishing the Brazos River, and running her restaurant in downtown Hearne. After her kids
