Basel Iven (Red) Wheeless

Basel was born in Easterly, Robertson County, Texas, January 25, 1923, to William Elzie (Buddy) and Elizabeth Nora (Young) Wheeless. He was Nora and Buddy’s last surviving child. His siblings were James Elzie Wheeless, Thomas Oren Wheeless, Hallice Adren Wheeless, Victor Clydell Wheeless, Agatha Euline (Wheeless) Rose, Sarah Elizabeth Wheeless, William Rogers Wheeless, and Artie Carroll Wheeless.

Dorothy Louise Walker Foster 74 of Houston and formerly of Hearne passed away July 27, 2014 in Houston.

Visitation Wednesday August 6, 2014 1:00pm – 6:00pm at Glenn Mack Funeral Home.

Visitation Thursday August 7, 2014 9:00am at True Light Baptist Church 4017 Hamilton St. Houston, Tx 77004 followed by a Celebration of Dorothy Life 10a.m. At the church Rev. Craig Taylor officiating.

Dorothy Louise Foster was born on June 20, 1940 in Hearne, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband Melion Foster, Dorothy was the first of seven children born to Albert and Alma Walker, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Albert Walker Jr., Charles Walker, Arthur Walker, Robert Walker, Mable Walker, and sister-in-law Vivian Walker. From an early age Dorothy was provided with a strong spiritual foundation.

Danny Neil Manthei

Danny Neil Manthei, 41, of Hearne, TX passed away on August 10, 2014 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on July 8, 1973 in McAllen, TX to Teddy and Donna Manthei. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Sonia Manthei, and their four children - Teddy, 6, Mary Kathryn, 4, Mary Anne, 2, and John Marie, 9 months, along with his parents, his brothers and their wives – Darren and Melinda Manthei of Bremond, TX, David and Briana Manthei of Liberty, TX, and Dustin and Robin Manthei of Hearne, TX; his mother in-law and father in-law, Ma. Esther and Gilberto Jaramillo of Bryan, his brothers in-law and their wives, Junior and Maria Colegio of Bryan, and Juan and Gina Colegio of Bryan, as well as 14 nieces and nephews and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Mary Ann Brunette

Mary Ann Brunette, 76, of Franklin, Texas passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at her residence. She was born on September 6, 1937 in Bryan, Texas to John Richard Slaughter and Addie Pearl Barnett Slaughter. She was a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School and also a graduate of Neilson Beauty College. She married Richard Leon Brunette on February 16, 1957. Mary Ann was employed with Dresser Industries and retired after 18 years. She had been a resident of Franklin for the past 11 years previously living in Irving for 41 years. Mary Ann was a born again Christian and a member of the Common Ground Cowboy Church in Kosse. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her father, John Richard Slaughter; mother, Addie Pearl Caldwell; Stepfather, Doyal O’Neal Caldwell, Sr. and brother, John Thomas Slaughter.

Lillian Lomax

Lillian Lomax, 75, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at her residence. She was born on October 20, 1938 in Temple, TX to Ewald Grimm and Haddie Horsak Grimm. Lillian was a 1957 graduate of Hearne High School and attended McKenzie Business School in Bryan in 1958. She worked in the hotel hospitality business for about 20 years. She has been a resident of San Antonio for the past 35 years and was of the Catholic faith. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband; Bob Lomax and son Keith Lomax.

Survived by: Son: David Lomax of San Antonio and Brother: Wilfred Grimn of Houston

Services will be held on Monday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Francis Catholic Church of Franklin. Priest Father Yu will officiate. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.

Mae Beth Barber Bishop Young

Mae Beth Barber Bishop Young passed from this life on May 25, 2014. Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd from 6-8pm at Memorial Funeral Home, followed with a funeral service on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11am. Mae was born May 12, 1932 in Bremond Texas to Thomas Allen Barber and Frances Viola Morgan Barber, the 5th of nine children. She graduated from Bremond High School in 1949, third in her class. School administrators recognized her intellect and called attention to it, much to her embarrassment. To say that she was shy would be an understatement.

Dorothy Lee Lightfoot Williams, 60 of Grand Prairie, formerly of Calvert passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Arlington Medical Center, Arlington TX.
Visitation was 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 19 at Glenn Mack Funeral Home.

Her celebration of life was set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Beauty Rest Cemetery in Calvert, with Minister Cedric Harris officiating.

Dorothy Lee Lightfoot Williams was born in Calvert, Texas. She was welcomed into the world to proud parents, Nathan and Girtie Lightfoot, who preceded her in death. Dorothy has been reunited with her siblings, Edgar, Anthony, Ella, Frances Lightfoot, and Tommie Faye Singleton.

Jerry Wayne “String Bean” West passed away on May 21, 2014 in College Station. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne on Friday, May 23 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on May 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marlin.

Jerry was a long-time local resident and local business owner in Franklin. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Cooper) West; sons, William Kluck of Hearne and Justin West of Franklin; sisters, Marie Loper and Violet West of Franklin, Shirley Davis and Ann Mabe of Bryan; 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rochelle Cato Delley 77, of Hearne departed this life on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in College Station. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 23 at Glenn Mack Funeral Home.

A celebration of life was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at New Elam Missionary Baptist Church in Houston.
Rochelle was laid to rest at Greater Riverside Cemetery.

Rochelle was born January 23, 1937 to Jerome Robert Delley and Minnie Scruggs in Hearne. He is survived by three children Bruchelle, Rochelle Jr., and Coella. 13 grandchildren; Tony Owens, Jr., Britani Lopez. Bruchelle Delley Jr., Shayla Delley, Ashley Ford, Derika Ford, Lauren Delley, Julian Delley, Jacob Delley, Rachel Delley, NaToya Brown, Anthony Brown Jr., and Tamara Conkleton. 4 great grandchildren; Briana Edwards, Jaden Mack, Soreonne Tennel, and Ashton Mallard. Brother: Frank T. Delley and sisters: Minnie Yarbrough, and Ella Nunn.
