Marie Campise Jones

Born in Bryan, Texas to Vince and Mary Stella Campise, Marie graduated from Hearne High School in 1960. She married the love of her life, James H. Jones, on July 9, 1961. Marie devoted her life to caring for her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to gather the entire family together for huge meals. She attended many music and sports functions for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always active in her church. In the early years, she taught catechism. Later, she served by cooking meals for priests, preparing food for funerals, acting as a cantor and joining the Age Managers Club. She was a devoted caregiver for her husband James when he was ill and was a dear friend to many.

Mary Emma Gordon

Memorial services for Mary Emma Beshears Gordon, age 82 of Hilltop Lakes Texas, will be held at the Franklin Church of Christ building on Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 A.M.   In  a private burial, Mary Gordon  will be buried at the Brushy Cemetery eight miles south of Buffalo.
Mary was born December 25, 1930 in Leon County in the Flo Community to Bruce and Bulah Beshears.   Mary attended school in Flo and in 1948 was one of four students to graduate from the last class graduating  from Flo High School.  Mary married Robert Gordon November 2, 1948 and they were married for 65 years and nine days.  God blessed Mary’s and Robert’s marriage with two sons, Billy Gordon and Ken Gordon (deceased). The Gordon’s were further blessed with beautiful grandchildren,  and 10 great grandchildren.  Mary was preceded in death by their son Ken, her parents Bruce and Bulah Beshears, and her brother, Billy Eugene.

Angelina Marie Doakes

Angelina Marie Doakes, 31, of Franklin departed this life on Wednesday October 23.
Angelina was born on September 3, 1982 in Clovis NM. She attended Hines Community College in Utica MS and later moved to Calvert Tx in 2002. She met the love of her life, Eric Doakes, in 2003 and married him in 2008. She was a certified CNA, after having kids she became a homemaker. Angelina loved her family dearly.
Angelina was preceded in death by her father Johnny Bobby McClenton Sr. and son Zechariah Doakes.

William “Bill” Brunette

WWII Veteran, William “Bill” Brunette passed away at Brazos Valley Hospice, Bryan, Texas, on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the age of 93.

A New Baden native, he was born on June 11, 1920.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Evelyn Bush Brunette. He was also preceded in death by a full sister, Alma Brunette, half-brothers, Hugo Ernest Sauer and Oscar Sauer, and a half- sister Elsie Sauer Hanhart.

Bill is survived by the couple’s two children. William Kent Brunette and Carol Ann Broadus. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Gary Broadus. Bill has 2 grandsons, Christopher Alan Broadus and William Justin Broadus. Chris and Miranda gave Bill a great grandson, Cole
Broadus. Justin and Brandi gave Bill a great granddaughter, Brianna Broadus, as well as another great grandson, Brady Broadus.

Lizzie Lee Light

Lizzie Lee Light, 89, of Gause, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 while residing at Copperas Hollow Nursing Home in Caldwell. A visitation was held Sunday, October 13, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A funeral service was held Monday, October 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Gause Baptist Church in Gause with burial that followed in Gause Cemetery. Services were officiated by Reverend Jimmy Sanders. Pallbearers were Jay Anding, Carl Turnage, Mikel Reed, Vince Mathews, Billy Cunningham, and Ray Cass.   
Lizzie was born in Gause, Texas on September 23, 1924 to Elmer J. Reese and Emma Favors Reese. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Carl Light; and siblings, Nettie, Jane, Howard, Rufus, Edna Ruth, and Charlie.

Vernon Wilson Jutson

Vernon Wilson Jutson, 88, of Hearne passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Healthcare. A visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 6:00 to 8:00  p.m. at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. A funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. Interment  followed at Suggs Cemetery near Hearne. Services were officiated by Dana Altimore of Five Points Baptist Church in Hearne. Pallbearers were Patrick Tessman, Mike Tessman, Jerry Johnson, Leo Gonzales, Jackob McCarver, and Sonny Miller. Honorary Pallbearers were Jacky Jutson and Jimmy Richardson.  
Vernon was born in Carlos, Texas on January 21, 1925 to William Clarence Jutson and Trannie Davis Jutson. He was a retired mail carrier for the Hearne Post Office and served in the U S Army Airforces during WW II.

Roger Abbott

Roger Abbott, 72, of Hearne passed away on October 8, 2013 in Temple, Texas after a long battle with cancer. 
Abbott was born on June 18, 1942 to Tressie and Raymond Abbott and raised in Hearne, Texas.  His parents proceeded him in death. He is survived by his son Kevin Abbott of Temple, daughter and son-in-law Shanna and Randy Goeke of Belton, Texas. Four grandkids Lance and Dustin Goeke and Ashley Ybarra and Tatum Abbott and one great grandchild Noyeli Ybarra. Abbott is also survived by many cousins and friends along with one very special cousin Russel McLerran of Cameron,Texas.
