Ralph Eugene Hopcus, Sr.

Ralph Eugene Hopcus, Sr., 80, of Bremond, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. He was born in Bremond to Louis Hopcus and Hedwig Kronenberger Hopcus on April 22, 1935 and lived there almost his entire life except for eleven years when he lived in Dallas. Ralph owned Ralph’s Bar-be-que in Bremond for many years. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also the Knights of Columbus. Visitation and Rosary were held Monday, June 29, at Bremond Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, June 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond with interment that followed in the church cemetery. Services were officiated by Father Celso Yu, Father Richard Dee Du, Monsignor Boli Zientek, and Monsignor Louis Wozniak. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Ralph is survived by his wife, Augustine “Tinka” Wierzbicki Hopcus; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Jr.

Elnora Finch Huffman, 85 of Calvert passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Calvert. Visitation was held at 1:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Glenn Mack Funeral Home Friday, June 5, 2015. A celebration of life honoring “Mama Bay” was held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Garret Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Moderator E.W. Carter. Eulogist and Rev. Henry Thomas-officiate. On February 16, 1930, in Calvert, Texas a beautiful baby girl was born to Ophelia Drennan and Walter Finch. The named this second born child, Elnora. This union was blessed with four other children. Elnora graduated from Calvert Colored High School in 1949. Elnora found the Lord at an early age and later became a member of Garret Grove

Bobbie Joe Miller

Bobbie Joe Miller, 80, of Hearne, passed away Friday evening, June 5, 2015, at his home. He was born Monday, August 13, 1934 in Lampasas, Texas to William Carl Miller and Thelma Word Miller. He graduated from Lampasas High School and attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He served our country in the National Guard. Bob married Shirley
Cummins Miller on August 20, 1954 and they moved to Hearne in 1966. He was a Special Agent with Southern Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklin. He was also a member of the Robertson County Fair Association, started the Sheep Committee and became Superintendent of the Sheep Committee.
