Robertson County livestock producers may be eligible for 2015 Drought Disaster Assistance

September 14, 2015 – The County Executive Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Robertson County, Kevin Humphrey, announced today that ranchers and livestock producers may be eligible for assistance from the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) for grazing losses incurred in 2015.

According to Humphrey, “Robertson County recently met qualifying drought ratings that ‘trigger’ eligibility for the Livestock Forage Disaster Program on improved pasture, native pasture and sorghum forage.” for [native pasture, full season improved pasture, cool season improved pasture, warm season improved pasture, short season small grains, long season small grains, and annual crabgrass, annual ryegrass, etc. - county to enter eligible crop here].”

Pasture and Ranch Management Seminar

The Pridgeon Community Center in Franklin will be the location of a Pasture and Ranch Management Seminar to be held on Monday, October 26th. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. with the program slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. The program will conclude at 3:00 p.m. The address for the Community Center is 351 Cooks Lane, Franklin, Texas.

The seminar will offer seven hours of CEU’s for the private applicator license and certificate holders. It has also been approved for commercial/non-commercial license holders to receive all needed hours to renew their license. The approved hours will include four hours in the General category, one hour in the Laws and Regulations category, and two hours in the IPM category. The first five hours will satisfy requirements for Commercial License Holders.

Public Permit Hearing and Regular Board Meeting

The District will hold a Public Permit Hearing and Regular Board Meeting on Thursday, August 8,  2013, at 3:00 p.m., at the District Office located at 112 W. 3rd Street in Hearne, TX., for the purpose of taking public comments on four (4) Operating Permit applications,  three (3) for agricultural irrigation use and one (1) for public water supply use.  One (1) Drilling/Operating Permit correction of aquifer of origin for industrial use.
