Cold Shooting Equals a Quick Exit

Calvert Trojans (19-4) Area Finalist

The Calvert Trojans basketball team thought they had found a rhythm offensively entering the playoffs having scored 80+ points in their last four ball games.

However, on Friday night their cold shooting returned and the Trojans could not overcome the deficit it put them in and they suffered a disappointing 58-42 loss to the Oakwood Panthers in Groesbeck.

Calvert had relied on a pressure defense and opportunistic offense to roll along in their last four games but that intensity on defense was lacking and as a result the offense as a whole struggled. The team just never seemed to find a rhythm at anytime during the game. They fell behind early in the game and trailed after the 1st quarter 17-12.
