City of Calvert coming together

C alveRt »

The Calvert community came together for a prayer vigil spearheaded by Keith Ronnell Trotter.

Trotter has a passion to bring people together as he always has regarding his role within the school district and community. Apart from his usual work, the evening of prayer is an extension of his work. He had unction to not only bring together the ministers of the community but “whosoever will let them come”.

The evening of prayer was organized with the hope of the community coming together in unity and build stronger ties that bind us together. Hopefully and prayerfully there will be continued efforts quarterly to continue the same.

It was approximately 35 residents that participated in the vigil. The goal is to involve some of the city’s civic and governmental leaders. Spiritual music was available to set the mood for prayer. Community leaders such as pastors were present to offer prayer. Calvert Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Thyrun Hurst, along with some school board members, council members and district staff were also present. There is strength in unity.
