HHS Students gear up for college tour
H earne »
On Sunday, January 13 at the Hearne Elementary Cafeteria if you didn’t get there on time you were out of luck. There was no more stew. It was all gone within a short period of time.
Beef Stew and Cheese Rolls were on the menu for your delight. The cause for all this good eating is to take Hearne High students on a summer tour of colleges in different states. To give them experience of knowing what other colleges in other states can offer them.
This is the ninth year for the program and it has been successful so far. Students, if they find a college or university they are interested in can get their application and wither fill it out there on site or bring it home to fill at a later date.
Larry Jackson, a native of Hearne. works very hard in implementing this annual program. Students who participate in this tour have an opportunity to gain appreciation of the cultural and geographic diversity of the various historical landmarks and sites.
Every aspect of the tour is designed to ensure that students gain inspiration through an educational and fun-filled experience.
The tour usually consists of approximately twenty-two to twenty-four students, give or take with adult chaperones and they are off to see what is in store for their future.
