The Hearne community welcomed Glow Laser Teeth Whitening to the downtown area at their grand opening ribbon-cutting Saturday, September 12, 2020. The business had a great turn-out of friends, families, and local business owners.
The Hearne City Council voted to lower the property tax rate from $0.71039 per $100 of property value to $0.66539 after minimal discussion during the final public hearing. Once cleared from the final public hearing the council unanimously passed the new lower tax rate.
Renda Jo Bermudez, an 18 year veteran of the Robertson County EMS has recently been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant by EMS Director Rene Ferrell, EMT-P. Renda has been an active member of the Robertson Coun-ty EMS for 18 years and with the new position comes new responsibilities which will include administrative as well as operational. Renda will be taking her experience and leadership to C shift working directly for Captain Samuel Porter who joined the EMS team in 2014. C Shift did not have an acting Lieutenant making Bermudez the perfect candidate to fill the position. “I am very glad that we could move her into this position, her experience and knowledge will be a continued benefit to the EMS,” said Ferrell.
The Texas A&M Student Bonfire is a strong Texas A&M tradition, but is it stronger than COVID-19? This week the Robertson County Commissioner gave the green light for the students to construct the three-story bonfire.
