Mid-term exams will be given at Hearne High School from Wednesday, December 16 to Friday, December 18. All students will be required to stay at school the entire first day of exams, but on the other two days, they will only be required to go when their tests is scheduled. The fall semester will end January 15 1971 and the Christmas holidays for Hearne public school students will begin after class on December 18. The school will resume on Monday, January 4, 1971 Hearne police office Elmer Golden caught two boys Tuesday night who had been using slots from beer cans to operate coin-type machines at a local laundromat. Chief of Police R.L. Perkins said the boys were released with the stipulation their parents make restitution. If something of a similar nature occurs whoever is responsible will be prosecuted in a court of law the chief said Friday morning.

Robertson County Jail and Sheriff’s Office cuts the ribbon

18-months ago, the Robertson County Commissioner’s Court approved the plans to build a state-of-the-art facility for the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and a new jail. Without many delays (most based on rain) and remaining on budget County Judge Charles Ellison cut the ceremonial ribbon declaring the Jail open.
