Project Unity helping all over
Project Unity held their family information day at the Hearne Municipal Clubhouse at 10:00 a.m. last Thursday and had a wonderful day with vendors from Prosperity Bank of Hearne, Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) who help with babies and toddlers in the surrounding eight counties. ECI professional providers have expertise with babies, toddlers and their families and are chosen based on the needs of the child and family. Speech and language pathologists, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, registered nurses, and even dietitians are just a few of the many services they provide.
Another one of the venders available to give out information and answer questions was Brazos Valley Center for Independent Living (bvcil), the mission for bvcil is to promote and fully include and have the participation of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of community life.
Through peer support, transition services and skills training, some adults with disabilities can live a life with some independence. BVCIL also can teach personal finance, computer and internet skills, cooking, and travel training.
