Doris Mae Hawkins Wilson
Doris Mae Hawkins Wilson was born May 24, 1933 in Hearne, Texas to the late Dorothy Mae Foster and the late Simon Hawkins. Doris was known to her children as “Mama”, her grandchildren as “Granny”, and to her great grandchildren as “Granny number 2”, to her sisters and brothers, church family and friends as “Bucie”. Doris was educated at Blackshear School. Doris was a homemaker to her growing family and for many years an ordained minister. Doris was united with Revival Tabernacle being a “Faithful” member until her death. Doris departed this life on April 18, 2017 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Mae Foster and Simon Hawkins; and a daughter, (Doris Mae Wilson Jr). She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Helen M. Favors and husband, Tony of Lawton, Oklahoma; three sons, Edward Wilson and wife, Belinda of Lufkin, Texas, Curtis W. Wilson and wife, Frances of Bryan, Texas, and James E. Wilson and wife, Donya of Pflugerville, Texas. Other survivors include two sisters, Jimmie Taylor of Waco, Texas and Ola Redmon of Hearne, Texas; three brothers, Frank T. Hawkins and wife, Mary of Prairie View, Texas, Elijah Hawkins of Dallas, Texas, and William A. Foster and wife, Laurette of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a special niece, Bennie Lee Wilson, a special friend, Arlene Wade and host of other nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends whom she adored. The family would like to express a special thank you to our Aunt Jimmie Taylor, Community Access, Inc. Aspire Hospice, McMahon Tomlinson Nursing Center, a special volunteer Karen Blaker and John Jackson of Becker Rabon Funeral Home for their part in my Mom’s care and transition to glory.
