Floyd Gean Jordan
Floyd Gean Jordan, of Hearne, formerly of Glen Rose, Texas passed away June 18, 2017 at the age 75 surrounded by his family and sidekick Chief. Floyd was born December 28, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to J.W. and Bernice Jordan. Floyd is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Becky Jordan; his parents, J.W. and Bernice Jordan; brothers, Gerald, Lloyd and Don Jordan; along with numerous other family and special friends. Floyd enjoyed many activities including spending time with his family and friends, fishing, bar-b-queing, bluegrass music, making and sharpening knives, and telling tall tales to anyone willing to listen. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone with whom he came in contact with. Floyd knew nothing other than to work. During his years he served as a police officer with the City of Abilene, he worked as a mechanic professionally and under a shade tree throughout his years. For several years he owned and operated a wrecker service in Robertson County and from 1973 until his retirement in 2000 Floyd worked for Texaco Pipeline. Floyd is survived by his furry companion and constant sidekick, Chief; his wife, Sug, of the last 16 years who resides in Glen Rose, Texas. Also surviving him are his 2 girls and spouses Ann and David Brymer and Debbie and Shannon Boyd of Hearne; loving bonus children, Darrell Morgan and wife Karen of Alvord, Texas and Becky Summers and husband Bob of Olean, Missouri. The greatest blessings come to him in the form of his grandbabies, Steven Loper, Anita Berlan and husband Patrick, Anthony “Scott” McKinney and wife Lindsay, Jordan Huffhines, Mychaelah Jordan, Wendy Gavit and husband Rodger, Shauna Morgan, Karla Morgan, Darrell Morgan Jr. and wife Terri, Alicia Smith and husband David, Jolena McDaniel, Nick McDaniel, Byron McDaniel, Trevor McDaniel and wife Drezdan and Keegan Freese; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren along with a host of other family members and dear friends. Services are in care of Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne. The family will be accepting visitors Friday, June 23 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m. in Calvert City Cemetery (New Edition). Proceeding over the services are Darrell Morgan Sr., Darrell Morgan Jr., and Rodger Gavit. Serving as Pallbearers are: David Brymer, Shannon Boyd, Scott McKinney, Steven Loper, Patrick Berlan and Jordan Huffhines. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are: Ronnie Cox, Ike Isenhour, Raymond Loper, Neal Backues and Joe Bass. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brazos Valley Hospice Care of Bryan and his hospice care team for the unending support and loving care over the past couple of months. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to Brazos Valley Hospice.
