Eagles flying high as they head to New Waverly

The Hearne Eagles are out to re-establish their program as one of the best in the area. After several down years the Eagles bounced back last season to make the State playoffs and this season they are looking to take it further and make some noise once they enter. This week they travel to New Waverly to take on the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs have had an up and down season thus far. When they are good they are very good but when they are bad they are really bad.

They looked good in wins versus Somerville, Anderson Shiro, and West Hardin but in their losses to Buffalo and East Chambers they were beaten soundly by scores of 69-0 and 49-13. The Bulldogs have 14 seniors on this year’s squad and are hoping to improve on last season’s poor record.

They surprised the Eagles 26- 21 last season in Hearne and definitely expect to defend their home turf. Running back Sammy Carranza and fullback Dylan Schaub will handle the rushing duties for the Bulldogs while they search for a quarterback.
