Avis Cargle Gandy

Avis Cargle Gandy, 83 born January 24,1934 in Center, Texas died peacefully at Crossroads Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Hearne, Texas on September 21, 2017. Visitation was held at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Elliott Baptist Church, 7390 W. US Hwy. 79, Hearne, Texas. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dale Wells officiating and the burial followed at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Ada Cargle of Center, Texas. Avis was long time member of Elliott Baptist Church of Hearne, Texas. She was very active in every aspect of the church. She was in charge of the food committee, decorated for every occasion, hand made all crafts for events at the church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies and she thoroughly loved her church family and helping people Avis was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ada Cargle; brothers, Troy Cargle, Ives Cargle, Travis Cargle, and Cecil Cargle; Sisters, Inez Cargle, Lois Cargle and Ruby Storkel of Houston, Texas. Avis leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Billy M. Gandy; her Daughter, Debbie Clark and husband, John David of Cedar Creek, Texas; Sons, Steve Gandy and wife, Amy, of Franklin, Texas, Keith Gandy and wife, Dorothy of Hearne, Texas; Sister, Dovie Wilkerson of Porter, Texas. Avis had 10 beautiful Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Pallbearers were: Tony Degelia, Zachary Gandy, Marcus Gandy, James Cargle, John Robert Clark, and John David Clark. The family would like to mention a special recognition to Crossroads Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Hearne, Bristol Hospice Of Conroe, Texas, Therese Estes and the Crossroads Beauty Shop volunteers for the special attention and care given to our loving Avis during her time of need.
