Betty Jane (Sisk) Altimore- Frizzell

Betty Jane (Sisk) Altimore-Frizzell, 93, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at the VITAS Inpatient Hospice in San Antonio. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at the funeral home. Betty was born July 31, 1923 in Hutchinson, Kansas the daughter of Leonard Parks and Edna Mae (Grable) Sisk. As a young woman in the early 1940’s she was a PBX Operator at Camp Crowder near Joplin, Missouri where she met and married Staff Sergeant Sam Altimore. After WW II, they moved to Hearne, Texas where she became a Housewife and for a period of several years the Cashier of First State Bank. Mrs. Frizzell was very active in the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and Bluebonnet Girls State. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hearne and later the First Baptist Church in Hearne and after moving to College Station, the Rock Prairie Baptist Church of College Station. Mrs. Frizzell moved to Rock Prairie Village in College Station in 1999. After the death of Mr. Altimore, Betty married Ivan W. Frizzell and in 2001 she became involved in the Scottish Rite and Sull Ross Mason Lodge. She moved to Bluebonnet Place Assisted Living in College Station in 2014, and in September of 2016 she moved to Heritage Place in Boerne, Texas to be closer to immediate family. After a brief illness Mrs. Frizzell passed away on April 17, 2017 at approximately 11:30 a.m. She was being lovingly cared for at VITAS Inpatient Hospice in San Antonio with her son Sam Altimore and her daughter Carol Ann Altimore Hansen by her side at the time of her death. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Sam Altimore and her husband of four years, Ivan W. Frizzell. She is survived by her son, Martin Samuel “Sam” Altimore and wife Tricia; daughter, Carol Ann Altimore Hansen and husband Fred; stepdaughter, Doreene Boubel and husband Brose; stepsons, Everrett Frizzell and wife Judy, Randal Frizzell and wife Janice; daughter-in-law, Raini Altimore Wright and husband Eric; grandchildren, Courtney Anne Altimore, Jacquelyn Belle Altimore-Achee and husband Steven, Jarod Sisk Altimore and wife Caris, Honor Leigh Hulo-Cruz and husband Tony; great-grandchildren, Caroline Dayle Cruz, Corey Cruz, Sophia Belle Achee, Savannah Rose Achee and Jackson Samuel Altimore.
