Dorothy Faye Martin Dick, 88, of Katy, formerly of Hearne, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Services were held Saturday, June 3, 2017 with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral service that followed at 11:00 a.m. in the Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Norwood Cemetery. Chapel service was officiated by Reverend Vernon Sansom, Jr. and graveside service was officiated by Louie Walston. Honorary Pallbearers were W. C. Cadle, Louie Walston, Wayne Morgan. Dorothy Faye Martin was born August 31, 1928 in Hearne, Texas. She was a devoted and loving mother and a faithful wife and helpmate. She was a friend to everyone who needed one. She loved animals and was a friend to numerous strays - both human and non-human. She remembered everyone’s birthday and openly practiced random acts of kindness expecting nothing in return. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved gardening and was an extraordinary cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed the company of others, reading the news, watching golf on TV, and listening to Southern Gospel Music. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar C. Martin and Opal Morgan Martin; and her husband, W. D. Dick on September 15, 2008. Dorothy’s family includes her son and daughter in law, William Dwayne Dick and wife, Leslie of Pearland; her daughters and son in law, Carol Diane Davis and husband, John of Katy and Dr. Debra L. Patterson of Dallas; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Arrangements were entrusted to Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home, new location: 307 W. 3rd St. in Hearne across from Hearne Police Department.
