William Peter “Pete” Morgan
William Peter “Pete” Morgan, 70, of Hearne, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Health Care with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hearne. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastors Randy Aly of Bethany Baptist Church and Jimmy Sanders of the Cowboy Church of Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Suggs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Pete’s grandsons and Joel Raines. Pete, as he was known to family and friends, was born January 8, 1948 in Cameron, Texas. He was a truck driver until he retired. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church; an active member of the Bremond Masonic Lodge #350, and a member of the Blackjack Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his beloved wife, Polly Ann Broadus Morgan of Hearne; son and daughter in law, Mark Stephen Morgan and Theresa Morgan of Hearne; daughters and sons in law, Carla Morgan Smith and Micheal Smith of Hearne, Rachel Frances Morgan Richey and Kelly Richey of Anahuac; Nieces, Rhonda Smith of Cayuga, Texas and Michele Raines and husband, Jay Raines of Millican; grandchildren, Jordan Richey, Justin Richey, Kailee Richey, Maryssa Dileo and husband, Sam Dileo, Mark “Stephen” Morgan, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth Morgan, Jenna Morgan, and Dalton Smith; 1 great grandchild, Avery Dileo; and a host of friends and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, Pete requested memorial donations be given to Shriner’s Hospital in Galveston, a charity for which he was very fond. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home.
