Eagles face off with Houston

]The Hearne Eagles opened the season by playing two of the top offenses in Class 3A Division 1 football. Game one of their season they faced one of the State’s best rushing attack in the Franklin Lions and they followed that up in game two by facing the Groesbeck Goats, one of the top passing attacks in the State led by quarterback Ty Hale. This week they will hopefully get a respite from the weekly fights and have a more relaxed approach. They face Houston Legacy one of the States top private schools that play 11 man football.

They defeated Maypearl in their opener 24- 14 on the road and will get a sterner test this week when they travel to Hearne to face the Eagles. Hearne will look to get its’ ship on track this week after faltering in their earlier games. The Eagles have faced much better competition than any they will have to face in district play. Coach Sargent sees that as a benefit by playing a strong non-district schedule. It better prepares his team for the journey that is the playoffs where there are no cupcakes to face off against
