Lady Eagles claw the Lions
The Hearne Lady Eagles had an up and down week as they split district contest to go 1-1.
On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles played a key district game with the Thorndale Lady Bulldogs. Thorndale had previously beaten the Lady Eagles so a victory would be necessary to split the series in district.
However, it was not to be on this night as the Lady Bulldogs prevailed in a close one 54-44. Hearne actually played well in the game using a tenacious defense the first half. They went into the halftime break tied at 17-17.
The third quarter would be their downfall as nothing went right offensively for the Lady Eagles and Thorndale took advantage to take a double digit lead into the final quarter. The Lady Eagles had many opportunities to take control of the game and the lead in both the 3rd and 4th quarters but just could not take advantage of those chances.
