Snubbed by the coaches
Most people would honestly believe that there is no such thing as politics in the sports arena. However, they would be quite mistaken, just ask the Calvert Trojans basketball team and Coach Andre Ross. The Trojans ran roughshod over the district reaching the century mark, 100 points, on many occasions. They didn’t run up the score they played their entire team and in most games all 10 players scored points.
They went unbeaten in district play with their closest victory being 14 points. They had six players average more than 8 points per game during district play, senior Davion Huffman, juniors James Green, Derrick Stewart, and Matthew Steamer and sophomores Kevin Wooten, and Danielshun Hurst. Senior Coylin Grimes was one of the top defensive players in district. Hurst had a good argument for Newcomer of the Year as was freshman forward TreQuinton Green.
