Trojans to declaw the Waelder Wildcats
The Calvert Trojans basketball team’s record stands at 7-2 but they could easily be 9-0 if they could just get out of their own way.
The Trojans suffered their first loss of the season after blowing an early 20 point lead and leading by as much as 12 points entering the 4th quarter. Their defense fell apart in the quarter as they allowed more points 31, than they had given up in the previous three as the Bulldogs made a steady parade to the free throw line for the comeback win.
Their second loss was just as devastating, a 4 point loss on the road to Mumford. In that one, the Trojans missed 17 free throws and had 20 turnovers to go with a miserable night shooting from the floor. If the Trojans could manage to stop stepping on their own feet they could become a team to reckon with when the State playoffs come around.
