Anita Lavon Gray Scarpinato, 83, passed away May 8, 2026 surrounded by the love of family and faith. Born January 18, 1943, in Stafford,Texas, Lavon grew up in the Franklin area and dedicated her life to family, faith, and hard work. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore Ashburn “Ted” Gray, with whom she built several successful family businesses and raised two sons, Frank Gray and Tim Gray. In 1995, she married Pete Scarpinato, and together they shared more than 30 wonderful years blending their families and enjoying their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lavon worked as a respected bookkeeper for Cunningham Real Estate until March 2026 and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Hearne. Known for her kindness, joyful spirit, and deep Christian faith, she touched countless lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
