Geraldine Martine Hancock was born on February 15, 1939, in the Elliott community of Robertson County, Texas to parents, Thomas Maurice Martine and Mary Ellen Upshaw Martine. She entered eternal life on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 87 years. Geraldine received her education in Hearne and married the love of her life, Alvis Wayne Hancock, on August 27, 1956, in Hearne. They shared almost 64 years together before his death on August 23, 2020. Geraldine was a life-long resident of the Elliott community and a member of the Elliott Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a mother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Martine; her husband, Wayne Hancock; one sister and six brothers. She is survived by her children: Ellen Hancock Amos of Hearne, Deana Hancock Houston and husband William of Hearne; son, Gerald “Bubba” Hancock and wife Kate of College Station, Jack Hancock and wife Susan of Franklin and Jamie Hancock of Hearne; 10 grandchildren: Erica Boller, David Amos, Jr., Amber Jutson (Runt), Joshua Amos, Cody Hancock (Katie), Hannah Hancock, Brittany Sorsby (William), Billy Houston, Grant Hancock and Levi Hancock. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren: Tony Henderson, Madi Jutson, Eli Jutson, Emma Jutson, Kennedy Boller, Chase Boller, Ellie Hancock, Ramsey Hancock, Rhett Hancock, Karter Sorsby, Kimber Sorsby and Kye Sorsby; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Elliott Baptist Church. Dale Wells will officiate. A Burial will follow in the Elliott Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the Elliott Baptist church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elliott Baptist Church,7390 W. HWY 79 Hearne, Texas 77859 The family of Geraldine Hancock would like to thank Darlene Harris and the staff at the Franklin Nursing Home for taking such good care of her and loving her.
