A Bryan man remains listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry following convictions for sexual assault of a child, according to state records.

Danny Lawrence Featherston, 62, is currently registered as a Texas resident with a listed address of 12433 Feather Trail in Bryan. The registry classifies Featherston as a low-risk offender but requires quarterly verification and lifetime registration under Texas law.

State records show Featherston was born Jan. 6, 1964. He is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 199 pounds, with gray or partially gray hair and blue eyes. A primary photograph associated with the registry entry was reported Jan. 22, 2026.

According to the registry, Featherston has three convictions for sexual assault of a child under Texas Penal Code 22.011(a)(2). Each offense involved a 14-year-old female victim. Court records indicate the disposition date for the cases was March 20, 2006.

The listed judgment for the offenses was parole or mandatory supervision. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville recorded Featherston’s initial registration on July 17, 2013, according to the registry entry.

Most recently, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office in Franklin recorded a verification event for Featherston on Jan. 22, 2026. Texas law requires individuals on the registry to periodically verify their residence and other identifying information with local law enforcement agencies.

The Texas Sex Offender Registration Program requires certain individuals convicted of specific offenses to register with local law enforcement authorities where they reside. The program is intended to provide information to the public and assist law enforcement in monitoring individuals required to register.

Under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62, individuals convicted of certain sexual offenses involving minors must remain on the registry for life unless relief is granted by statute or court order. Those required to register must report identifying details including physical description, residence address and other relevant information.

Registrants also must comply with scheduled verification requirements. In Featherston’s case, the registry lists a quarterly verification requirement, meaning the individual must confirm his information with authorities four times each year.

Information on the public registry is maintained by the Texas Department of Public Safety but is reported by the law enforcement agency that served as the offender’s most recent registration authority. State officials note the information is provided as reported by those agencies and may change as individuals update their registration status.

The DPS registry also includes a notice stating the agency cannot guarantee that records obtained through the site relate to a specific person without fingerprint verification. Searches are typically based on names, birth dates or other identifying information.

According to state guidance, registry records remain publicly accessible until the individual’s legal duty to register expires or other relief is granted under Texas law.

Residents may access the Texas Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry online to review publicly available information regarding registered offenders and to stay informed about individuals required to report their status to law enforcement.
