Their pieces have been chosen for the annual txEDCON TASA/TASB Convention, scheduled for September 11–14, 2025, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The convention, hosted each fall by the Texas Association of School Administrators and the Texas Association of School Boards, is one of the largest gatherings of education leaders in Texas. School board members and district administrators from across the state attend to discuss policies, training, and the future of education. Alongside the meetings and workshops, the convention also celebrates student achievements. One of the highlights each year is the art exhibit organized by the Texas Art Education Association. The showcase features work from students in Pre-K through 12th grade and is designed to shine a spotlight on the value of quality art programs in public schools. Visitors to the Visual Art Advocacy booth will also see interactive demonstrations led by students, giving them a chance to experience firsthand the creativity that art education inspires. Representing Hearne ISD in this year’s exhibit are: Reyshun Henderson with Dock of the Bay Genesis Sanchez with Paradise Larissa Miller with Walk with Nature The selection is a proud moment for Hearne ISD, as these students will have their artwork seen by school leaders from across Texas. It is also a chance to show how the district continues to support the arts and encourage students to explore their talents.

Burn Ban Issued
Roy McCoy roy@robconews.com Robertson County News In response to ongoing heat and drought conditions, the Robertson County Commissioners’ Court has enacted a burn ban for unincorporated areas of the county. The order, adopted on August 26, 2025, aims to prevent potential public safety hazards caused by outdoor burning. The ban, issued under Local Government Code §352.081, restricts most outdoor burning activities but allows exceptions for firefighter training, public utility and pipeline operations, agricultural planting, and prescribed burns by certified managers. Violations of the order are classified as a Class C misdemeanor, with fines up to $500. The restrictions will remain in effect unless lifted earlier by the Texas Forest Service or the Commissioners’ Court. For more information on the burn ban and exemptions, residents are encouraged to contact local authorities.
