Seven Franklin athletes sign college letters

Dylan Busby dylan@silsbee-bee.com Robertson County News FRANKLIN — Seven Franklin ISD athletes recently signed national letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, marking another strong showing for the Lions’ athletic program. The group includes athletes from baseball, track and field, softball, volleyball and tennis. Walker Anderson signed with Temple College to play baseball after helping Franklin continue its tradition of success on the diamond. Anderson was part of the Lions’ state championship team from two years ago and will now take his game to the junior college level. Kade Kram signed with Houston Christian University to run track. Kram has been one of Franklin’s top sprinters and is set to compete in the 100-meter and 200-meter races at the state track meet next week. Breeley Lively also signed to compete in track and field, choosing Sam Houston State University. Lively competes in both the discus and shot put and will also represent Franklin at the state track meet next week. Franklin softball had two athletes sign to continue playing at the next level. Kadie Autrey signed with Dallas Christian College, while Kysen Toney signed with Grayson Junior College. Both athletes helped lead the Lady Lions on the softball field and will now have the opportunity to keep competing after graduation. Grace Arnold signed to play volleyball at Oklahoma Baptist University. Arnold has been a key part of Franklin’s volleyball program and will take her talents to the collegiate level. Bryn Prochazka rounded out the signing class by signing with Harding University for tennis. Prochazka is competing at the state tennis tournament this week, adding another major accomplishment to her senior season. The seven signings highlight the depth of Franklin athletics and give the Lions another group of student-athletes moving on to represent the district beyond high school competition.
